A Cry for Help: The Story of Tracy Thurman (1989)
T. Thurman (Nancy McKeown's character in the film) is married to someone who is with her. But he continued to chase after receiving a restraining order and the police did nothing to help him. When he was beaten and brutally beaten by police, he sued the city and police for failing to protect him.
BS scenes, most of Tracy's endings, are heavy and almost too long. B. Thurman chased T. Doo, threw him to the ground, and stabbed him several times. When she was helpless on the ground, he kicked her, jumped on her head and shouted that she had done all this to him, it was her fault (we didn't do that. She always said). Paused a few times and climbed a few meters. Just leave it to go back and continue. There is a policeman standing there now, and as he will tell you later, I am closely monitoring the situation. During the filming, she tried to paralyze her boyfriend (maybe her husband?). We only saw the reaction when B tried to catch him and the police got up.
Dealing with the situation led Tracy to sue the police, claiming that they did not provide her with adequate legal protection.
That is, from the New York Times:

Watch the movie and ask for help. I want to know what happened to him. What have you done with your life since this movie? Who is your son and has B been released from prison?

I want to congratulate you for daring to go to court. What happened to her and her son after this movie? I pray that it is okay, I know it will not be the same, but with you, he will be able to stay strong.
Just a note: Lifetime Movie claims that although the city won 2.3, they appealed and the court ruled 1.9.
The movies are good. What a terrible situation.
