I just received my 2009 Marano 40 days ago and suddenly got John Service, does anyone know why?

You already have your answer, but you can take it to any auto parts store to check your computer code for free, at least you will know what's wrong.
If it's really about the tank lid, you may have a faulty lid that doesn't close properly. It is also possible that the problem does not depend on whether the code was read or what was reported.
This is probably the fuel cap. It looks like they were installed immediately, but in reality they are not. Check it whenever you change the fuel cap.
There are many reasons ... the fuel limit is the best candidate ... but your local Nissan dealer is the best place for long term warranty coverage ...
