If your site receives a manual action, you'll need to request a review after the issues are resolved to get it back in the SERPs or back in the rankings.

You can select "Request Review" in the "Manual Actions" report.

A republish or revalidation is a request you send to Google to review and reindex content after your site has been manually impacted and repaired. A new listing will force Google to verify your site to determine eligibility and your site may be reindexed and included in Google's search results. The rating may or may not decrease after restoring your content.
