Have You Ever Received Federal Student Aid
Have You Ever Received Federal Student Aid
Scholarship Question: Have you ever received a federal scholarship? 3
I filled out an online financial aid form. One question you should ask yourself: Have you ever received a federal scholarship?
Select Yes if you have received a Federal Scholarship, Federal Student Loan, or State Dual Studies Program.
If you have never been to college, choose No. If you have never earned a federal scholarship, a federal student loan, or a federal degree for work, choose not to.
My question is: Do I have financial support? I wonder if the funding for federal grants counts.
Make it easy for yourself: Have you completed and submitted an application for FAFSA: Free Federal Scholarship for Students? If so, did you get * financial help * as a result? Peel Grants, SEG Grants, Sword Direct Loans?
In that case, you get a federal scholarship.
Not all financial aid is federal, and not all federal aid is a federal grant. If you receive a federal loan (direct subsidy or non-subsidized loan, or Perkins loan) or a Pell grant or SEOG, you are receiving federal student assistance. When in doubt, say yes. The only reason to ask this question is whether the form should ask if you have ever been convicted of receiving a federal scholarship. If you have never received help, you cannot be punished for accepting it, so this question will be ignored. If you answer yes, it will only ask if you have been convicted. If the answer is no, then it doesn't matter if it helps you or not. If so, you will be referred to Scol to determine if you are eligible for assistance.
