What is the relationship between Creon and Odipe?
In Odipe Rex, Creon is a brother of Queen Jocasta, wife of King Laios and Odipe. Laius, a former king of Thebes, had given the government to Creon when he tried to consult the oracle of Delphi.
What will become of Creon in Odipe?
In Odipe Roi, Kreon embodies the voice of reason. When Odipe rages, Creon remains calm, while Odipe cries out for exile, Creon protects him with gentle determination. At the end of the tragedy, Creon appears wise and responsible, a good leader of Thebes now without a king.
